Emmanuel Calairo, PhD., Immediate Past Chairman – National Historical Commission of the Philippines
The freedom we enjoy today is the result of a long and hard-fought struggle. History tells us that notable men and women of the past dedicated their lives to fighting for our country’s freedom. But historical accounts also provide various (even contradicting) versions of the past, fueling arguments and even questioning the heroism of some individuals.
Saddened by the continuing debates and discussions on who is a hero, who is a heel, and the never-ending debate as to the who, how, when, where, and whys of the activities of the revolutionaries, Heroes All PH has been commissioned by a great grandson of General Emilio Aguinaldo.
Disappointed that the backbiting and crab mentality of the Filipinos continues up to this day and age, he believes that it’s high time to end the debates. Instead, Filipinos must be given easy access to resources such as various versions of historical accounts, not necessarily to be part of the debate but to have an educated understanding of the past and to realize that THEY ARE HEROES ALL.
He hopes that an understanding of the past will inspire every Filipino to better appreciate the various types of heroism displayed by historical figures and arm them with knowledge that could aid in timeless enjoyment of freedom.
Hence, name of this website: Heroes All PH.
Through the support of Cavite Studies Center of De La Salle University – Dasmariñas and Cavite Historical Society, Heroes All PH shall serve as an avenue for the public to have access to information not only on General Emilio Aguinaldo but other heroes and Philippine History as well. The group promises to present references that provide fair and balanced interpretation of history.
Constructive/Objective comments or suggestions from our readers will be appreciated. The administrators may post some of them. We also welcome submissions of related articles on other heroes. Please feel free to email feedback@heroesall.ph or post in the comment.
